Ten Outfit Trends You Have to Try

Did anyone say “outfit inspo”? In my opinion, women’s fashion has been moving towards a real cool place—a mixture of 90s cool girl and oversized menswear. There’s also been an increase in dressing for comfort with the explosion of loungewear. Can you believe it, wearing sweats is cool now?! Whatever your cup of tea, here are ten outfit trends I think you should give a try.

The Blazer, Crop-Top Combo

I love blazers, so the move to menswear is giving me life! The key to wearing a bulky blazer is to balance it out with a tighter fitting top underneath or skinny jeans. If you don’t want to look drowned in clothes, pick something tighter underneath. Finish this outfit off with heels or sneakers. Talk about versatility!

The Oversized T-Shirt Look

Oversized shirts are perfect to wear over tanks or crop tops. They provide the coverage of a jacket while still being loose enough that you won’t overheat. I especially like to wear a plaid (or any patterned) shirt over a monochrome look like a black crop top and black biker shorts. Finish this look off with a fanny pack and combat boots and you’re a winner.

The Fuzzy Loungewear Set

Ok I love to wear heels and dress up, but can we just take a minute to appreciate the move to more comfortable attire? When the loungewear is as cute as this, you have no reason not to indulge. Who says you can’t be cute and comfy while stuck in the house?

The Cropped Cardigan

Ok this recent cropped cardigan look is to die for. I love how dainty and feminine it looks. You can really pair it with any bottoms, but the pastel look is super in right now, so give it a try. Put on some gold jewelry and you are all set.

The Monochrome Look

One of my favorite Instagram personalities Chriselle Lim taught me that dressing in monochrome looks really make you look so classic and chic. The colors don’t have to match exactly but they should be in the same color family. Just give it a try and you’ll see how it elevates your style.

The Plaid Pants with the Fila Kicks

Y’all already know I love my Fila Disrupters. They go with everything! I especially love how they look with more out of the ordinary pieces like plaid pants. Even if you don’t have these shoes in particular, any white sneaks will do! Pair this with a plain graphic tee and you’ll look like someone straight off the show, The Politician (which is definitely my aesthetic).

The T-shirt Under Spaghetti Straps

I love spaghetti straps, but if you’re like me, you may want a bit more coverage on the chest area. Well have no fear! Just wear a regular white or black tee underneath and you get an even more elevated look with the coverage you desire. You’re welcome.

The High-Waisted Jeans and Snake-Skin Bag Combo

Snakeskin is blowing up this year. Personally, I only like it on my accessories and not on my clothes, so snakeskin handbags and shoes are a personal favorite. Pair some snakeskin shoes with some high-waisted jeans (another personal favorite) and a simple top and you have a timeless look.

The Classic White Button Down

As I am writing, I am wearing a white button down. White button downs are so chic and can be paired with everything. It can serve as a strong base or as the finishing touch on any outfit. It’s just a great basic to have and I recommend investing in a good one, since it never goes out of style.

The Comforter

Ok this one is sort of a joke, but just a reminder to have fun with your style. Don’t take yourself too seriously and especially during coronavirus, let fashion be an uplifter, not a stressor. I pray all of you are safe and healthy and that you decide to try some of these outfits. Let me know in the comments what are some of your favorite fashion trends. Experiment! What’s the worst that could happen?
